Situated on eight beautifully wooded acres on the Angelina River, we’re your choice whether you’re looking for a stunning wedding venue, a fun and relaxing stay for a family reunion, a great space for a corporate training event, or a romantic and unhurried weekend escape. And it’s easy to get here from Houston, Dallas or Beaumont and we’re just 40 miles from Toledo Bend. San Antonio guests, we know it’s a bit further for you but you’re welcome too – why don’t you plan to stay for a day or two?

An unforgettable escape!
Minutes away from The Bird & Butterfly Inn is Lake Sam Rayburn, the largest man-made lake in Texas and a top fishing destination; head into town to learn how the lake was created at the Jasper County Historical Museum (hint: it was all excavated!). Just across the dam is the East Texas State Fish Hatchery, where you can take a tour and learn about how Texas keeps its lakes stocked.
For naturalists, plan a hike in the Angelina National Forest, or bring your canoe or kayak for some paddling on Steinhagen Lake.
If just relaxing is more your speed, no worries. The Bird & Butterfly Inn has over 1,800 square feet of covered, ceiling fanned porches so you can be sure we have a rocking chair with your name on it.
