The State Park Loop is an easy walk under tree coverage that takes you along the shores of the lake it loops around in Figure 8 and brings you back along the park road. You can also do the two loops separately if you are looking for a shorter walk. Bring the bug spray!
2. Aldridge Sawmill Historic Site Trail - Angelina National Forest
Distance: 1 mile round trip
The Aldridge Sawmill Historic Site is not just a hike – it’s a journey back in time. While it’s one of the shorter hikes around Jasper, it’s packed with history. The remnants of the old sawmill, which operated in the early 20th century, stand as a testament to the area’s lumbering past.
